Year 6 London Residential

Year 6 Residential to London

Year 6 took travelled to London for a jam-packed residential on 29th November- 1st December! After leaving school and arriving in London, they had lunch opposite the Tower of London which was followed by a tour round the Tower.   The children were very excited to see the crown jewels and meet the ravens protecting the Tower.

We then visited the Imperial War Museum. The children had a great time learning about World War II ready for their upcoming history topic. They particularly enjoyed the Anderson and Morris shelters; they even commented on how comfortable the Morris shelter was.  This was followed by a meal at Bella Italia!

The next day, we filled up on breakfast, and it was off to the British Museum to explore the many artefacts.  This was followed by a walking sight-seeing tour around London which ended at the Apollo Victoria Theatre! We were all excited to watch Wicked the Musical! We then went for a delicious meal at Prezzo where we enjoyed some dough balls in blankets for starters!  The children were all pleased to get back to the hotel after a busy day!

On our final day, everyone was rather tired, but were soon woken up for a day at the museum. First stop was the Natural History Museum, where the children loved reading about the dinosaurs. It was great to get to see what some of the dinosaurs looked like and how they lived. From there we walked next door to the Science Museum, where we visited the Space centre!  The children loved hearing about the space race. We then said goodbye, as it was time to hop back on the coach and make our way back to Cowbit!

What a busy residential! A big thank you to Mrs Links and Mrs Leonard for accompanying the children for the weekend.
